Oscar legend Daniel Day Lewis retires from acting

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): Well, it's a bad news for all Oscar -winning actor Daniel Day Lewis fans! According to a statement by his publicist, three-time Academy award winner, Lewis has announced his retirement from acting, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Leslee Dart, publicist of the 'Gangs of New York' star shared a statement, which read, "Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject." This is not the first time when Day-Lewis has taken retirement from films. In the late 1990s, he took a sort of "semi-retirement" to retu to his main love, woodworking. Day-Lewis is the only performer to ever win three best actor Oscars. His last Oscar came for the title role in Steven Spielberg's movie ' Lincoln', while his other two wins were for ' There Will Be Blood' and ' My Left Foot'.
