J&K Police open drug de-addiction counselling centre

Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir), August 18 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir Police have inaugurated Drug de-addiction counselling centre for the treatment of drugs addicts at Poonch District Hospital. Giving details, Poonch Superintendent of Police Pande Rajiv Omparkash said they have opened the center near the hospital in view of immediate assistance to the drug addicts. Telling about the cases of drugs which have been recovered by the police, the SP said number of youths are indulged in drug racket and to counsel them two doctors have been specially appointed in the hospital. The center offers comprehensive treatment programme, including detoxification, motivation enhancement for behavioral change, training techniques to prevent relapse and intervention for families of persons with substance abuse. The event was attended by large number of locals and police officials.
