Police detain Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar, Swami Agnivesh in Ratlam's Jaora

Jaora (Madhya Pradesh), June 11 (ANI): Swaraj India Chief Yogendra Yadav, Social Activist Medha Patkar and Swami Agnivesh were detained by the Madhya Pradesh Police in Ratlam's Jaora on Sunday afte oon. The trio were arrested under Section 151 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) while they attempted to meet a group of protesting farmers. Their arrests came just hours after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called off his fast in Bhopal. Farmers across Madhya Pradesh have been staging a protest demanding better prices for their produce and a waiver on their loan repayments.  The crisis began after at least five farmers had lost their lives in a clash with the police in Mandsaur.
