Hiring activity sees 15% rise in Jan: Naukri JobSpeak

New Delhi [India], Feb 14 (ANI): Hiring activity in India Inc marked 15 per cent increase during January this year compared to the corresponding month previous year, according to Naukri JobSpeak Index.
The index for January this year was at 2,251 compared to 1,951 in January 2018.
IT software industry noted a significant rise in the hiring activity, growing by 36 per cent. Auto and auto ancillary industry saw an increase in hiring with a growth rate of 17 per cent.
Hiring in IT software and HR functional area recorded a year-on-year rise of 35 per cent and 30 per cent respectively. Hiring in Bangalore was up by 27 per cent. Likewise, Mumbai was up by 10 per cent and Delhi NCR by 8 per cent.
Sumeet Singh, CMO at Infoedge India Ltd, said: “Beginning the new year with a robust growth in hiring activity looks encouraging. The rise in recruitment for January has been notable across sectors such as IT, auto and FMCG. The functional areas such as HR, IT hardware and sales/BD also have observed a rise in recruitment and this trend is likely to continue in the upcoming months.”
Hiring for a talent of 4 to 7 years of experience grew by 18 per cent whereas recruitment for entry-level jobs which falls in the experienced band of 0 to 3 years witnessed a rise of 16 per cent in January 2019.
Recruitment activity for mid-management roles of 8 to 12 years of experience grew by 13 per cent, while senior management roles of 13 to 16 years of experience recorded a 2 per cent rise in hiring.
Leadership roles with experience band of 16+ years remained largely flat with a slight increase of 1 per cent in recruitment activity.
The Naukri JobSpeak is a monthly Index which calculates and records hiring activity based on the job listings on Naukri.com website month on month.
With more than 4. 75 lakh jobs live at any point and over 6 crore CVs, Naukri.com serviced over 76,000 corporate clients in 2017-2018. The company operates 56 offices in 42 cities in India and overseas offices in Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain.
