Govt signs MoU with NCAER to improve statistical system

New Delhi [India], Jan 29 (ANI): The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to use new data technologies, knowledge generation and sharing, and capacity building in the field of official statistics.
This will lead to strengthening and better monitoring of data quality and timeliness of various statistical products and services generated by the ministry including gross domestic product, economic census, price statistics, index of industrial production and annual survey of industries.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Pravin Srivastava, Secretary at MoSPI cum Chief Statistician of India, Jyotirmoy Poddar, Director General at Central Statistics Office, Shekhar Shah, Director General of NCAER and other senior officers of both the organisations. (ANI)
