This by far is the most competitive award for MSME category in the area of innovation and indigenous development of Technology. "We are proud to have received the award for MiraCradle™ - a neonate cooler to treat newborn babies born with birth asphyxia. This gives fillip to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's vision of not only 'Make in India' but 'Design in India", said Samit Jain, Managing Director, Pluss. MiraCradle™, a CE certified device, is today available in over 130 private hospitals in India. India accounts for over 150,000 neonatal deaths of the recorded 6,50,000 deaths globally. MiraCradle™ breaks the affordability barrier at a price that is almost 1/10th of the devices from the developed countries. "The unique feature of this device is its price point. Another advantage of MiraCradle™ is that it does not require continuous electricity supply to operate and is literally maintenance free, making it suitable for under-developed and developing countries" added Samit Jain. MiraCradle™ was designed and developed in partnership with Christian Medical College, Vellore which undertook all clinical trials required for product approvals. "MiraCradle™ will help India and under-developed and developing countries meet the Sustainable Development Goals set by United Nations with regard to Neonatal Mortality. This is the world's first such affordable device for treatment of Birth Asphyxia in neonates," said Mr. Ankit Jhanwar, Vice President Corporate Planning, Pluss. (ANI-NewsVoir)
