Los Angeles [USA], Mar.23 (ANI): Ever heard about the first female president candidate of America, Victoria Woodhull? Well, if not, then get ready to see her inspiring story on the big screen. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-winning actress, Brie Larson is all set to play the role of Woodhull, who was the first woman to be nominated for the US presidency in 1872. Amazon has acquired the rights of the movie and will see Ben Kopit write the script. Kopit also wrote the story of Warner Bros. movie 'Libertine.' Woodhull was a women's rights activist and suffragist, who could not even vote for herself on Election Day (women were not able to vote until 1920). She also was a published author, creating the radical publication Woodhull and Claflin's Weekly in 1870 with her sister. She and her sister also started the first woman-run stock brokerage company. Larson will also produce with Whalerock Industries' Lloyd Braun and Andrew Mittman, and Anne Woodward will be the executive producer. On a related note, Brie Larson is all set to make her directorial debut with 'Unicorn Store,' starring Samuel L. Jackson and Joan Cusack in the pivotal roles. (ANI)
