New Delhi [India], Feb. 16 (ANI): While many believed that his career as a filmmaker might be over with a string of flops, he comes up with a little gem called 'Split', which has received rave reviews from around the world. The 46 year-old shared how he made such a complex storyline into a successful movie. "I treat the script like a play, that's always how I refer to it and I don't alter lines. I want actors to realize they're much more pliable than they think they are," Shyamalan revealed. The director also shared that this is the most complex script he has ever written and he knew that McAvoy was perfect to play the role of Kevin. "This is the most complex character I've ever written. I was thinking,'Does he understand what I'm asking him to do in this piece?' And he did; I've never worked with an actor so fearless," he said. "James would bring these incredible new aspects to the table. We got into that wonderful rhythm where things that were sacred to me weren't touched but only heightened," he adds. Made with just 9 million USD, 'Split' ripped its competition apart as it held number one position for three consecutive weeks at the US box-office and grossed 169 million USD worldwide. 'Split' stars James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Jessica Sula and Haley Lu Richardson and will release in India on February 24, 2017. (ANI)
