New Delhi [India], Mar. 9 (ANI): To mark this year's International Women's Day, Emma Watson hit the streets of New York City dressed as "a red-striking ninja book-fairy" and hid feminist books at the statues of iconic women. The 'Beauty and the Beast' star, in partnership with Book Fairies, marked the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women through the power of literature. Documenting her day on Twitter, the 26-year-old gender rights activist wrote, "Today I'm a red-striking ninja book-fairy out to spread some wise women's words" before heading out to the Harriet Tubman Memorial, the Joan of Arc Memorial, the Gertrude Stein statue and the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument.

Today I'm a red-striking ninja book-fairy out to spread some wise women's words @the_bookfairies #IWDOurSharedShelf #IWD #adaywithoutawoman
— Emma Watson (@EmmaWatson) March 8, 2017

Dropping off books at Gertrude Stein statue in NYC??? #IWD #IWDOurSharedShelf #ADayWithoutAWoman @the_bookfairies
— Emma Watson (@EmmaWatson) March 9, 2017
Each of the books that the 'Harry Potter' star shared, had personal messages and one such lucky recipient posted a photo of Emma's handwritten note on Twitter, which read in part, "Congratulations on finding one!
