Los Angeles [U.S.A], November 3 (ANI): Hollywood director Richard Linklater has finally opened about the topic of harassment in Hollywood.
The 57-yead-old helmer has called for "house cleaning" in Hollywood, which has been seeing a multiple sexual misconduct scandals, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Talking about the matter, Linklater said, "Clearly the industry is having a house cleaning of some kind. Obviously, it's way overdue. And it's unfortunate [about] the workplace in our industry - young people need to be encouraged and supported, not preyed upon."
The Oscar nominated actor also backed the industry-wide call for making the business safe for everyone, especially women.
"It's just the exact methodology to make sure it doesn't happen again needs to fall into place and everyone needs to come aboard. But I think that's going to happen. So that's the upside," noted Linklater.
Meanhwile, more than 300 women have come forward in accusing Academy Award-winning screenwriter James Toback of sexual abuse.
Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman and Andy Dick have also been accused of sexual misconduct. (ANI)
