Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], October 4 (ANI): Sony's 'Venom' cast list keeps on growing!

Jenny Slate is in negotiations to join Spider-Man spin-off, which stars Tom Hardy in the titular role of Eddie Brock aka Venom, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

It was revealed that the actress might play the role of scientist in the film though no confirmation has been made by Sony yet.

Slate recently appeared on Marc Webb's drama film 'Gifted' alongside Captain America hunk Chris Evans, who she also dated briefly.

'Venom' also stars four-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams and Emmy-winning actor Riz Ahmed, who are enlisted to play important roles in the Sony's Spider-Man spin-off.

Plot details of the movie has been kept top-secret at the moment.

However, it was speculated that Williams might play the female lead as Hardy's love interest although Ahmed's character has been kept under wraps.

Zombieland director Ruben Fleische will direct the spin-off, which Sony hopes will be the first in a series of films based on 'Spider-Man' characters.

Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner will write the script, with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal.

'Venom' is set to hit theatres on October 5, 2018. (ANI)
