Washington D.C.[USA] June 26(ANI): Kanye West recently opened up about his support for United States President Donald Trump and wildly controversial comment about slavery being "a choice".
Last month, the 41-year-old rapper had sparked outrage on social media after saying that the enslavement of African-Americans over centuries may have been "a choice"; receiving a chorus of criticism from many.
In an interview with the New York Times, West said that his intentions were misunderstood, "I said the idea of sitting in something for 400 years sounds - sounds - like a choice to me, I never said it's a choice."
"I never said slavery itself - like being shackled in chains - was a choice. That's why I went from slave to 400 years to mental prison to this and that. If you look at the clip, you see the way my mind works," he added.
He also compared himself to Nat Turner, the slave who led a rebellion in 1831.
West also made headlines when he went out of his way to openly say, he is a Trump supporter.
"I felt that I knew people who voted for Trump that were celebrities that were scared to say that they liked him."
"I hear Trump talk and I'm like, I like the way it sounds, knowing that there are people who like me that don't like the way it sounds," he added.(ANI)
