New Delhi [India], June 15 (ANI): Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films has again come up with one of its presentations 'The School Bag,' directed by Dheeraj Jindal. Starring the versatile actress Rasika Dugal, 'The School Bag' has been selected at more than 50 Film festivals, across 13 countries and has won 15 awards in various categories like Best film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Cinematography and many more. Over the last three years, the platform has gained immense popularity and has become one of the most credible and celebrated short films platform in India. It has released some of the most prodigious and award winning short films which truly reflect originality, imagination and perfection such as 'Ahalya', 'Nayantara's necklace', 'Interior Cafe', 'Ouch', 'Chutney', 'That Gusty Morning', 'Mumbai Varanasi Express', 'Khool Aali Chithi.' Shot in a village in Peshawar, Pakistan, this film is a drama about surprises we plan and the unexpected tragedies of life that we can't even imagine. It is a tale about Farooq, a young boy and his mother where Farooq has a simple demand of a new school bag on his birthday, but his mother, in spite of her love and affection seems to be unfazed by her child's plea, and unaware of what was waiting for her child. This short film is the director's attempt at portraying the beautiful bond that a mother and her son have and the ineffable pain she goes through when her child suffers. Set against the context of the terrorist attack that took place in Peshawar, the film also features the impact that such atrocious incidents leave on the lives of innocent people and actually make us question the world we live in. This short film is Dheeraj Jindal's poignant take on a tragic incident that took place in Pakistan. He first entered the film scene around seven years back as an associate director and very soon moved to directing films independently. He has a number of TVC's, social, corporate and documentary films to his credit. Some of his old films have won awards and screened at different festivals globally. Talking about the film, director, Dheeraj Jindal said, "This film shows the special bond between a mother and her child and how it is irreplaceable and incomparable.
