New York [USA], June 13 (ANI): Irish rock band, U2, paid tribute to late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain at the Apollo Theater in New York.
U2 frontman Bono took a moment during their performace to pay his respects to the chef.
"We lost a lot of very inspiring, useful people and gained a few useless people. It's hard, though, to lose a friend, to lose a mate, and this band has been through that and music lost some great people who gave up on their own life and that makes it kinda harder," Entertainment Weekly quoted Bono.
"And now this great storyteller, who I'm sure had stories he had to tell us," Bono concluded before dedicating 'Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of' to Bourdain.
Bourdain allegedly committed suicide in his hotel room in Paris last week.
Television network CNN, for whom Bourdain had produced the food series, 'Parts Unknown' reported the incident and released a statement condoling his death.
Bourdain was known as a master of crafts in the kitchen. He was also recognised as an advocate for marginalised populations and campaigned for safer working conditions for restaurant staffs. (ANI)
