'76 % Gujaratis want to choose life partners on their own'

New Delhi [India], Oct 26 (ANI): A recent study on Gujaratis has revealed interesting facts on how they find their life partners.
The survey was conducted by GujaratiMatrimony - an online matchmaking service from BharatMatrimony. Based on its 1.5 lakh members, the user base comprised of 31 percent female registrants and 69 percent males.
Studying the demographic patterns of the registered users and their preferences, the data revealed fascinating insights on how Gujaratis choose to get married.
The top five cities that witnessed a maximum number of registrations are Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Jamnagar. For Gujaratis living outside their state, the top 5 cities with the highest number of registrations are Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Thane.
The study shows 64 percent of the female registrants belong to the age group of 18-29 whereas 30 percent fall between 30 and 40 (22 percent of females belong to 30-35). 71 percent of men belong to the age group of 21 to 30 whereas 22 percent fall in between 31 and 40.
Of the total registrants, 16 percent are NRIs, out of which 72 percent are men and 28 percent are women.
Another interesting fact revealed shows 62 percent of female profiles were registered by themselves whereas for men it's 80 percent self-created.
The top professions listed by men and women, who have registered on the website, is software professional, manager and executive.
Among the NRI registrants, the most common type of occupations turn out to be software professional, non-IT engineer, and manager.
The study further revealed 64 percent of the registrants live in Gujarat with their most common occupation being Business Owner/ Entrepreneur, Executive and Manager.
