The restaurant-cum-bar has been designed by a Greek architectural firm, k-studio. An official from K Studio, Dimitris Karampatakis, told CNN that the idea was not to design something static in front of a "dynamic landscape".
A senior architect of this project, Costantza Sbokou-Constantakopoulou, said that the inspiration was taken in from "the dynamic and hypnotic movement of the waves of the sea."
The restaurant that opened in 2011, sits on a wooden platform, which is composed of natural wooden columns. The roof has been constructed using a specialised outdoor curtain fabric.
The owners of the restaurant have to occasionally face ceiling damage. But having replacements at hand helps because the roof is changed during the off-season.
Sbokou-Constantakopoulou added that the restaurant was built on an experimental basis, but the social media fame was a surprise.
The resort located in the Greek region of Messinia in the southwest area of Peloponnese; sits on white sandy beaches with turquoise coloured sea waters providing a picture-perfect contrast. (ANI)
