Chhattisgarh: Bomb squad defuses two IEDs planted by Naxals

Chhattisgarh [India], Sep 02 (ANI): A tragedy was averted on Saturday due to alertness of forces as Bomb Squad defused two IEDs planted by Naxals to attack Road Opening Party in Madded village of Chhattisgarh.

Two pressure cooker IED's were recovered by the forces along roadside in Pegadapalli between Madded and Bhopalpatnam of Bijapur district.

Deputy inspector general (DIG) of Dantewada range, Sundarraj P has said, "One IED was defused and recovered while another was blasted by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team. The IEDs weighed 2 Kilograms each."

He further informed that the Naxals wanted to harm the security forces but a major accident was prevented due to vigilant security forces. (ANI)
