Goa customs seizes gold paste worth Rs 18.09 lakh

Panaji (Goa), [India], March 6 (ANI): Customs Officials at Goa International Airport seized 590 grams of gold paste worth Rs 18.09 lakh on Wednesday under provisions of Customs Act, 1962.
They also apprehended a passenger who arrived from Dubai by an Air India flight.
As per officials, the gold paste was allegedly concealed in the waistband of his jeans.
“The Air Custom officers of Goa headed by N.G Patel, Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Deepak Gawai apprehended an international passenger, arrived from Dubai by an Air India flight and 590 gms of gold paste,” a press note released by Goa Customs department said.
“Since April 2018, the Air Customs of Goa Commissionerate has seized gold worth Rs 254.59 lakh and foreign currency equivalent to Rs 75.14 lakh at Dabolim international airport,” it added. (ANI)
