New Delhi [India], January 18 (ANI): Union Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh on Thursday condemned the recent rape incident in Haryana and said that it's Government's duty to take stern actions against such cases.

"It's unfortunate and condemnable. It's government's duty to take stern action. Action is to be taken not only at the time of the crime but also beforehand to ensure that it doesn't occur in the first place," he told ANI.

Singh added that such people should be identified and dealt firmly.

The Haryana Police on Wednesday assured of strict and rapid action on the murder a 19-year-old youth, who was named in the FIR as the alleged abductor in the savage rape and murder case of a 15-year-old Dalit girl from a village in Kurukshetra district.

The 15-year-old girl, who was missing since last Tuesday after she left home for tuition classes, was found near a canal at Budha Khera village in Jind district's Safidon town.

She was brutally assaulted, her private parts mutilated and some of the vital organs ruptured. (ANI)
