Maharashtra: Nearly 1,200 Maths answer sheets gutted in fire

Beed (Maharashtra) [India], Mar 4 (ANI): Nearly 1,200 Mathematics answer sheets of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination were destroyed in a fire in Kaij taluka of Beed district in Maharashtra on Saturday.

According to the initial reports, the papers were kept in a room which caught the fire.

The reason of fire is yet to be ascertained. More details in the incident are awaited.

The class 12 or HSC exams started from February 21 and will be held until March 20. Around 14.85 lakh candidates have registered for the exams across Maharashtra.

The HSC exams are being conducted in nine divisions - Pune, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nagpur, Ratnagiri, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik, and Latur. (ANI)
