Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 5 (ANI): The Mumbai police on Thursday arrested a man from Ahmedabad for allegedly threatening Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi on Twitter.
Following the arrest, Priyanka took to social media to thank Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi and Mumbai police.
"I would like to thank @MumbaiPolice , @DelhiPolice , especially @IPSMadhurVerma and @CPDelhi . Also my gratitude to @HMOIndia & @rajnathsingh ji for taking this up," she tweeted.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Deepak Deoraj told ANI "On immediate call we acted on the matter. A team was sent to probe the case and the accused was arrested in few hours. Today, he will be produced before Mumbai City Civil and Sessions Court in connection with the case,"
Chaturvedi had filed a criminal complaint on July 3 against the troller, who had tweeted to her threatning to rape her 10-year-old daughter.
The Congress leader brought the matter to the attention of the Mumbai Police, after which a complaint was filed.
