Nigerian arrested for drug possession in Hyderabad

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Apr 27 (ANI): Hyderabad police on Saturday arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly possessing proscribed narcotic substance including 20 grams of cocaine and 9 ecstasy pills (MDMA).
"On 27th April, sleuths of commissioner's task force nabbed one Nigerian national who has been found with narcotic substance. We have recovered 20 grams of cocaine, 9 ecstasy pills (MDMA) from him," said Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad city, Anjani Kumar.
Identified as Jaun Paul Oneybuchi from Lagos state, Nigeria, the accused came to India in October 2008 on a visiting visa.
The accused is reported to be a habitual offender who was earlier arrested in two narcotic related cases in 2016 and 2017, the official said.
"He used to buy cocaine at very cheap prices from Goa and sell the same at higher prices to his clients in Hyderabad," said the official.
A case has been registered in the matter and further investigation into his network with local and foreign dealers is on, the official added. (ANI)
