Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India] Feb. 05 (ANI): Rajasthan's police officials will face action if they post political statements on social media, state's Director General of Police (DGP) O.P. Malhotra issued a circular on Monday in this regard.

"It has come into the notice that some policemen have made or forwarded political statements on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter," said the DGP in the circular.

It further states that the policemen of the state must desist from making political statements or commenting on the social media, and maintain distance from the movements against the government.

The circular has warned of action against the erring police officials.

"If a policeman does this, then it will be considered as a violation of the Rule No. 7 and 11 of the Rajasthan Civil Service Rules, 1971 and rule number 82 of Rajasthan Police Rules, 1948," the DGP said in the circular. (ANI)
