New Delhi, [India] Oct 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asserted that the policemen residing in the Maoist dominated areas are providing satisfactory services and are making all efforts to weed them out from across country. Not only that, he also hailed the forces deployed in terror-hit Jammu and Kashmir for maintaining peace and law.
The Prime Minister, who got teary eyed while lauding the sacrifices made by the security personnel while addressing the police commemoration day, said, "Many people do not even know that when a building falls, when a boat capsizes, on events of fire breakouts, on the rail accident, who are the people who take charge of the relief work. It is the day to remember every jawan who maintains law and peace in Jammu and Kashmir and fights against terrorism. Jawans on duty in Naxal-affected areas are doing a great service. It's also due to them that the number of Naxal affected districts are going down and youths are coming to the mainstream," he said
"It is the result of your (security personnel) alertness that the elements which create unrest are unsuccessful in their attempts. The attempts to create fear and insecurity in the nation were foiled by you. The peace prevalent in the nation is possible only due to your services," he added
Prime Minister Modi added, "The courage and sacrifice of our comrades in the North East have also started appearing in the form of peace. You also contribute to the development of our north-east, becoming a symbol of peace and prosperity."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also honoured the survivours of 1959 Ladakh's Hot Spring attack, on the occasion..
He also inaugurated a 30-feet-tall and 238-tonne heavy black granite central sculpture honouring the slain troopers, a museum and a wall of valour bearing the names of over 34,800 martyred personnel.(ANI)
