Thailand Princess attends Manipuri Sangai fest

Imphal (Manipur) [India], Nov 29 (ANI): Thailand's Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was accorded a warm welcome by Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on her maiden visit to the state on Wednesday. She also witnessed the annual Manipuri Sangai Festival 2018 here.
On her arrival at the Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT), the Princess was accorded a warm welcome. She witnessed the mesmerising cultural performances by artists from Manipur and Thailand.
Speaking on the occasion, Princess Sirindhorn said that it was indeed a great pleasure to visit the state and experience the festival. She appreciated the government's initiative of 'Act East Policy' and mentioned that Thailand would extend co-operation in this regard.
The Princess was accompanied by Thailand's Ambassador to India, Chutintorn Gongsakdi, officials of Royal Thai Embassy, Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Officials from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs were also present at the festival. (ANI)
