Meerut [Uttar Pradesh] [India], Mar. 30 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Siddharth Nath Singh on Friday defended officials, who appeared to have dozed during a meeting, and said they deserved to be at peace as they were doing a good job.

"Development work is going well, officers are working efficiently. The public is happy, then why shouldn't the officers be at peace," The UP health minister said when queried by the mediapersons on the dozing officials.

Singh was addressing the public as well as the media in Mawana town of the district about the schemes and policies of the BJP government to mark one year of Yogi Adityanath-led state government.

The minister said the alliance of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) will have no effect on the 2019 general elections and that Narendra Modi will again become the Prime Minister.(ANI)
