Patna (Bihar) [India], March 15 (ANI): Congress leader Ranjeet Ranjan on Friday said that Bihar Mahagathbandhan candidate list will be announced on March 17 and her husband Pappu Yadav is likely to be a part of it.
Speaking to media person's, Ranjan said, "Mahagathbandhan in Bihar will announce its list of candidates on 17th March. I think Pappu Yadav will become a part of the gathbandhan."
Pappu Yadav is currently the leader of Jan Adhikar Party-Loktantrik (JAP-L) and had defeated Sharad Yadav in 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Madhepura constituency.
Meanwhile, as the final seat sharing is being finalised in the Bihar alliance, last minute hiccups are also being reported from the state.
As per sources, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav along with Vikassheel Insaan Party's Mukesh Sahni and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha will be meeting Rahul Gandhi to sort out differences.
Sources stated that the differences have come up over the Darbhanga parliamentary constituency which is being claimed by recently inducted Congress member Kirti Azad and VIP's Mukesh Sahni. While Azad happens to be the incumbent MP from the Darbhanga seat, Sahni is laying claim to the same citing votes of his community in the region.
However speaking to ANI Sahni said, "Everything is going smooth and the seat sharing of the alliance will be announced on March 17th".
Indeed sources have stated that Rahul Gandhi's intervention is being sought to sort out the differences and pacify the claimants which may either lead to a mutual agreement between Azad and Sahni or the former finding a new seat to contest.
Earlier on March 13, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had claimed that there is no confusion among the leaders of Bihar Mahagathbandhan regarding "seat-sharing".
After attending a meeting organized to discuss seat-sharing in Bihar ahead of general elections, Yadav said, "In meeting of the Mahagathbandhan leader's seat sharing was discussed. It was discussed who should be the candidates from various constituencies. The candidates were discussed according to the winning prospects."
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Rashtriya Lok Samta Party’s (RLSP) chief Upendra Kushwaha, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) supremo Jitan Ram Majhi, representative of Loktantrik Janata Dal’s (LJD) president Sharad Yadav and other leaders attended the meeting and deliberated upon seat-sharing agreement.
There are 40 Lok Sabha seats in BiharBihar will go to polls in all the seven phases on April 11, 18, 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. The results would be announced on May 23. (ANI)
