Hajipur (Bihar), July 24 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday suspended MLC Tunna Pandey, who was arrested for allegedly molesting a teenage girl on-board a train. Pandey however denied the allegation and said he didn't even know whether it was a girl or a boy who was sleeping in the berth. "I was just taking out my phone charger, didn't even know whether it was a girl who was sleeping or a boy. When I switched the lights on by mistake while trying to take out my charger, the girl shouted that I was misbehaving with her," he added. Hajipur Government Railway Police, officer in-charge Sanjay Singh had earlier said the BJP MLC was arrested on the basis of a written complaint by father of the girl. "The minor girl was sleeping in a train berth and Tunna ji tried and molested her. He also tried to take her to the bathroom after which she screamed and alerted her father about the incident," said Singh. "Tuna ji was coming from Durgapur and he was going to Hajipur. He had a body guard with him. The alleged incident took place near Sarai railway station on Muzaffarpur-Haijipur section of East Central Railway," he added. Meanwhile, JD-U leader Sanjay Singh condemned the incident and said that it shows the true face of the ruling party. "This is condemnable. The real face of the BJP, their character has come in front. It is the duty of a people's representative to take care of the masses, to protect them not to molest or harm them," he added. (ANI)
