Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], Sept. 6 (ANI): The Karnataka Cabinet on Wednesday decided not to release water to Tamil Nadu. The Cabinet decided to go against the earlier Supreme Court order. A session to this effect will be called soon. Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the setting up of a Cauvery Water Management Board (CWMB) as the most ideal solution to settle the ongoing Cauvery water conflict. After an all-party meeting, former chief minister and JD (S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy said that their party would not leave a drop of water and will challenge all kinds of contempt. He added that the Assembly had some power in the Constitution and decision will be taken on the floor of the House. The Supreme Court had earlier ordered the release of 6,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu till September 27. (ANI)
