Mysore (Karnataka) [India], Apr 9 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday fired a fresh salvo at the Congress party stating that it has started abusing the middle class by calling them 'greedy and selfish.'

Addressing an election rally here, PM Modi said: "The Congress party has started abusing the middle-class people by calling them selfish. The honest income taxpayers are being called greedy and selfish. Let me assure that every honest taxpayer will be respected in our rule."

"The inflation touched double digit during the UPA led Congress government, but it has been reined in during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. While the Congress gave 2G scam to India, we gave cheap smartphones and the cheapest data in the world. If you remove the Congress, poverty will be removed automatically," he said.
Lambasting Congress chief Rahul Gandhi for contesting from Kerala and not Karnataka, PM Modi said: "Congress has made Karnataka Chief Minister (HD Kumaraswamy) their punching bag. This is the politics of blackmailing. This is politics of dynasty, corruption which has caused anger in the country."
"When Deve Gowda ji was Prime Minister, he was back-stabbed by Sonia Gandhi. Congress does not trust Janata Dal (Secular) and hence, Naamdaar (Rahul Gandhi) hasn't dared to fight elections from Karnataka."

Asserting that the BJP's resolution is to develop the new infrastructure of new India, PM said: "It's our resolution that by 2030, India will be in the top three economies of the world. Our resolution is to double the numbers of the functional airport in the next five years. We have promised to strengthen our armed forces."

"We will achieve in the next five years what could not be done in the last 70 years. The only agenda of some parties is to remove Modi. You cannot expect them to work for the welfare of the people," he said.

Continuing his tirade against the Congress, PM Modi said: "The difference between Congress' fake manifesto and BJP's strong Sankalp Patra is clearly visible. Congress manifesto is for votes. Our is for voters. The party whose vision and agenda are only to remove Modi, how can they think of the interest of ordinary people."

Prime Minister Modi said the policies implemented under the rule of his party have benefitted crores of people. "I have adopted the "Sabka Saath mantra". Our policies have greatly benefited people. I have been able to take the decisions to strengthen the nation only because of your support and confidence."

"The Communists ordered lathi-charge and jailed the devotees of Sabarimala. Congress supported them and thus agreed with their action," he said, adding that the BJP will try to get constitutional protection to the issue of faith.

"BJP connects with your (people) emotions about Sabarimala. We will keep your faith, worship, and tradition in mind while approaching the Supreme Court on Sabarimala issue," he asserted.

Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka will be held in two phases starting April 18. There are 28 Lok Sabha seats at stake in Karnataka. The counting of votes will take place on May 23. (ANI)
