Dense fog engulfs Delhi, Punjab; flights delayed

New Delhi [India], Dec. 1 (ANI): As dense fog enveloped the national capital bringing visibility below 50 meters, operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport temporarily suspended. Also dense fog shrouds parts of Punjab, affecting normal life in several parts of the state on Thursday morning. The national capital officially welcomed winter as dense fog enveloped Delhi on Wednesday, making visibility almost minimal and bringing the morning traffic to a sluggish pace. The Met says with this development, not only chill wintry will make a comeback, but pollution levels are also expected to spike. However, the sudden change in weather conditions has also hit trains as 50 of them have either cancelled or re-scheduled its services. (ANI)
