The Sikkim Forest Department sent a team of fire fighters with the locals to douse the flames. There has been no report of casualty yet, but, animals and birds are badly affected and killed. The village Khadiri has been in news because of its forest fires in different locations and for its dry land throughout the year that makes it a fire-prone area.
