Govt constructing 73 roads along Indo-China border: Rijiju

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said that the government has decided to undertake construction of 73 roads of operational significance along the India-China border. Replying to a poser in Lok Sabha, Rijiju said 46 roads are being constructed by the Ministry of Defence and 27 roads by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Further he said, out of 73 roads, 24 roads have been completed. The project is likely to be completed by 2020. The Minister also said the proposal, which was expected to be completed in the year of 2012-13 but the executive agencies have not adhered to the time schedule due to very high altitude and mountainous, rugged and difficult terrain.
