Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], Feb 4 (ANI): Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) working president Eshwar Khandre on Monday clarified that HD Kumaraswamy is the chief minister of the coalition government, however, it is out of love that the party considers Siddaramiah as their leader.
While addressing the media here he said, "We have already clarified that HD Kumaraswamy is the chief minister for the coalition government. But out of our love and affection, for us, Rahul Gandhi is more than Prime Minister to us and Siddaramaiah is our leader. What is wrong in that?"
This remark comes after Kumaraswamy had said that he is ready to step down after Congress MLAs, who are in coalition government had reportedly said: "Siddaramaiah is their leader."
Khandre also hit out at the central government for allegedly misusing the investigating agencies, he said, "We condemn such acts by the CBI and the central government against, Mamta Banerjee's government. They are misusing the constitutional agencies."
JD(S) leader HD Deve Gowda last week publicly voiced his unhappiness with ally Congress, saying he was in 'pain' and would not remain 'quiet anymore.'
Gowda, father of Karnataka Chief Minister  HD Kumaraswamy, made known that the six months of running the coalition government with the Congress was not a pleasant experience but he had "not opened mouth."
"Is this a way to run the coalition government, where we have to request our partner not to use foul language? Six months have passed that Kumaraswamy became the Chief Minister and all kinds of things have happened in six months. Till now I haven't opened my mouth but now I can't keep quiet," he said. (ANI)
