MP continues to witness intermittent showers

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), July 13 (ANI): The central and western parts of Madhya Pradesh are still witnessing intermittent showers. Bhopal-Jabalpur highway is again closed today as Barna River is overflowing at Bareli. At Nemawar, Narmada is near danger mark and an alert has been sounded in the nearby villages. Water is released from Barna dam to maintain the water level. Traffic on Ashoknagar-Vidisha road will now remain disrupted for long as the bridge near Vidisha has been badly damaged. The excessive rains for the past few days have affected at least 3 lakh 46 thousand people in 21 districts of the state. Surveys to assess losses due to excessive rains have been started. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed officials to ensure concrete arrangements to prevent rain-generated diseases in affected areas and to hold health camps. (ANI)
