New Delhi [India], Mar 7 (ANI): Nagpur Metro is one of greenest metros in India, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday while launching Nagpur Metro service via video conferencing.
Interacting with the ministers and citizens of Nagpur, the Prime Minister said: "Today, Nagpur has joined the other cities of the country where Metro service is available. It is a pride moment for me as I had the opportunity to lay the foundation of this project and I also got an opportunity to inaugurate it. Undoubtedly, Nagpur Metro is one of greenest metros in India."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi further said that this Metro project will open employment opportunities for 20,000 young people.
"By 2014, the network of Metro was just 250 km in the country. As you bid a farewell to helpless government and chose a strong one, the operational network of the Metro has reached 650 km," the Prime Minister stated.
Stressing that the government is trying to bring a Common Mobility Card for people of Nagpur that could be used for transportation throughout India in Metro and buses, the Prime Minister stated: "Common Mobility Card will not only be useful for transport but you will also be able to do online payments through it. It will be both your express card, debit and credit card."
"Common Mobility Card, RuPay debit card and Bhim App are such arrangement of India's digital infrastructure, in which, other countries of the world are showing interest too." (ANI)
