Ralegan Siddhi (Maharashtra) [India] Feb 4 (ANI): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray here on Monday met social activist Anna Hazare, who is on the fifth-day of his indefinite hunger strike to demand setting up of a Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas in states.
This came a day after Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray extended his party's support to Hazare and urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre to fulfil the demands of the social activist.
On the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, January 30, Hazare launched his indefinite hunger strike to demand the setting up of a Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas in states saying the Narendra Modi government "had failed" to set up the anti-corruption bodies.
Earlier in January, the Supreme Court asked the Lokpal Search Committee to complete its task of short-listing the names for Lokpal by February end and submit the list for consideration to the Selection Committee. Now, the apex court will hear the plea on March 7. (ANI)
