Rajnath Singh chairs meeting to aid drought-affected Rajasthan

New Delhi [India], May 2 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday chaired a high-level committee meeting for central assistance to Rajasthan in the wake of drought that took place last year. The committee examined the proposal based on the report of the Inter-Ministerial Central Team, which visited drought-affected Rajasthan. The committee approved the assistance from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) in respect of Rajasthan to the tune of Rs. 588.34 crore. The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs and Defence Arun Jaitley, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare S.S. Ahluwalia, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officers of the Ministries of Home, Finance, Agriculture and the Niti Aayog. (ANI)
