Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Dec. 12 (ANI): Imam of Tipu Sultan Mosque, Syed Mohammad Nurur Rahman Barkati, on Monday issued a fatwa against West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Dilip Ghosh for his "drag by hair" remarks against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Ghosh had earlier trained his guns on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo for her protest against the Centre's demonetisation drive and said that she could have been pulled and dragged by 'his police' had the party wanted to do so. He further said that Banerjee is crying after losing thousands of crores of rupees because of demonetisation. "That's why she (Banerjee) is visiting Delhi and Patna. And failing to achieve anything, she is sitting in Nabanna (state secretariat). We had thought that she would ultimately jump in the Ganga. this person (Banerjee) has lost her mind. The state's people have realised their mistake of bringing in change in West Bengal," Ghosh alleged while speaking at a meeting of the party's youth wing held at Paschim Medinipore district's Jhargram on Saturday. Ghosh's derogatory remark drew a quick reaction from the ruling TMC in West Bengal with senior party leader Derek O'Brien stating that politics has touched a new low. Asserting that this is third class politics, he said these threats are dangerous and personal. (ANI)
