Johannesburg [South Africa], Dec. 8 (ANI): Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday ended their Champions League campaign as they defeated CSKA Moscow comprehensively to secure a place in Europa League knockout stage at Wembley. Spurs, which needed to avoid defeat to secure third in Group E, defeated CSKA Moscow 3-1. Tottenham went behind when CSKA Moscow's midfielder Alan Dzagoev scored from Zoran Tosic's headed flick-on in the 33rd minute of the match. However, five-minutes later, Dele Alli half-volleyed in Christian Eriksen's cross to score the equaliser and just before the end of the first half, Harry Kane finished a stylish move to put Spurs in front. The win was wrapped up in the 78th minute when goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev initially blocked Alli's shot but then managed to scoop the ball into his own net, reports Sport24. Tottenham, which also won in the reverse fixture in Moscow, was beaten by Monaco and Bayern Leverkusen in its previous games at Wembley. Spurs will now enter the second-tier Europa League in the round of 32 in February.(ANI)
