Vardy's away goal gives Leicester a lifeline in 1-2 CL loss to Sevilla

Sevilla [Spain], Feb.23 (ANI): Jamie Vardy gave Leicester City an away goal and kept alive their hopes of making it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League despite a narrow 1-2 defeat at the hands of the Sevilla in the first leg of the last-16 tie here on Thursday. Midfielder Pablo Sarabia's firm header put Sevilla ahead in the 25th minute of the match before Joaquin Correa doubled his side's lead with a close-range finish in the 62nd minute, goal.com reported. In the 73rd minute of the match, Vardy not only scored his first goal of the Champions League but also offered hope to Leicester that he could return to form and fire his side to Premier League safely. Leicester will now play the second leg against Sevilla on March 15. (ANI)
