Swiss maestro Roger Federer, who skipped the French Open twice in a row, is on the fifth spot in the rankings. Meanwhile, women's singles winner of the French Open Jelena Ostapenko has jumped from 47th to a career-high 12th in the WTA rankings. Appearing in just her eighth grand slam event, the 20-year-old Latvian crushed tournament favourite Romania's Simona Halep 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, to become the first unseeded woman ever to win the trophy last Saturday. The top spot in the women's rankings has been retained by Angelique Kerber, followed by Halep and Karina Pliskova. Serena Williams, who did not participate in the tournament for being pregnant, has dropped down to number fourth spot. (ANI)
