Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Aug.12 (ANI): India's dismal show continues at the 2016 Rio Olympics as shooter Gagan Narang failed to qualify for the finals of the 50m Rifle Prone Men's Qualification event on Day 7 here at the Olympic Shooting Centre on Friday. The London Olympics medallist started the qualification round brightly, but tailed off a little in the last two series to finish with a score of 104.7, 104.4, 104.6, 103.0, 104.0 and 102.4. Narang's score of 102.4 in the last series was below his average. He ended with a total of 623.1 points to make a lowly 13th-place finish in the qualifiers. Meanwhile, it was an end of the Rio journey for other Indian shooter Chain Singh, who also failed to qualify for the finals after finishing at 36th place with an overall score of 619.6. Narang, however, will still have a chance to win a medal for the country when he will compete in the 50m Rifle 3 qualification on August 15. (ANI)
