Sydney, Aug 12 (ANI): American swimmer Michael Phelps continued his dominance of the pool, winning the 200 metre individual medley to extend his tally to a staggering 22 Olympic gold medals in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. The 31-year-old completed the race in 1:54.66, more than two seconds quicker than silver medalist Kosuke Hagino of Japan, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. Phelps, who retired after the 2012 Olympics before returning to the sport two years later, also has two silver medals and two bronze. This was his fourth gold medal at this year's quadrennial event in Rio and could claim a fifth in the 100m butterfly event on Saturday. (ANI)
