Happy B'day Paaji: Kohli wishes `cricket hero` Tendulkar

New Delhi [India], Apr 24 (ANI): As legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar turns 44 today, his apprentice and current skipper Virat Kohli took to Twitter to wish his `cricket hero` a very Happy Birthday. Posting a picture of him with the master blaster, Kohli wished Tendulkar more happiness and peace in life. "Happy B'day Paaji . May God bless you with more happiness and peace in life. Greeting Tendulkar on his special occasion, former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum? said the former is an inspiration to all the aspiring cricketers around the world. "Happy birthday to @sachin_rt An inspiration to 1.2 billion indians and also every other cricketer around the World. Legend," he wrote. "Many many happy returns of the day paaji @sachin_rt #HappyBirthdaySachin," Fast bowler Mohammed Shami said. Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh also extended his warm wishes to the legendary cricketer, saying, "Happy birthday paaji @sachin_rt lots of love and best wishes ?.. khush raho tandrust raho..we love you." Offering his greeting to Tendulkar, former South African pacer Allan Donald? said that the 'birthday boy' is the best ever he had played against and most humble person he had met. "The best I ever played against and yet the most humble you will ever meet. Happy birthday @sachin_rt I hope it's a cracker young man," Donald tweeted. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and former team director Ravi Shastri are among the others to extend their best wishes to the master blaster. Tendulkar, who bid adieu to the sport in 2013, is the leading run-scorer in Tests. He is the only cricketer to have hit 100 international centuries and has notched up 15921 runs in 200 Test appearances for India. The cricket great also leads he chart in ODIs with 18,426 runs. He is also the first one to score a double century in ODIs. The Mumbaikar received India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 2014. He is the youngest recipient to date and the first ever sportsperson to receive the award. (ANI)
