New York [USA], Feb 22 (ANI): Tech giant Google on Thursday announced the launch of Android Enterprise Recommended, a business-focused certification program to instill greater confidence in Android devices.
The launch comes in the backdrop of an increasing number of glitches in security and operating system failures reported by the corporate community.
According to a report that appeared on The Verge, Android Enterprise Recommended devices must meet minimum hardware requirements for Android 7.0 and later, support bulk deployment of devices, deliver security updates within 90 days of release from Google for up to three years, and offer unlocked devices.
Among the current devices that fulfill designated requirements are Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, BlackBerry KeyOne, Motorola X4 and Z2. However, Google said more devices will be added to the list in the coming months.
The ultimate goal, Google said, is to make Android more reliable for corporates as a trusted workplace tool. (ANI)
