Unable to use debit, credit cards for subscriptions, app purchases on Apple? Well, this could be the reason

New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): If you have recently been facing trouble in using card payments for subscriptions and app purchases on Apple, then don't worry, you are not alone as the American tech giant has stopped accepting these payment methods across India.
The support page of Apple, which lists the available payment methods in each country, currently shows only three payment options, net banking, UPI and Apple ID balance. The last option can monthly deduct money from the account when the subscription renews.

All of this implies that Indian credit or debit card users will not be able to make purchases from Apple's app store, get subscriptions to iCloud+, Apple Music or buy media content.
Users have even complained about the elimination of credit and debit card options on Twitter.
One of them shared, "Wow. So apple just removes cards from list of supported payment methods."

The decision to remove these payment options comes after last year the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) implemented new rules for auto-debits, which have disrupted recurring online transactions.
RBI's new mandate indicated that automatic recurring payments for various services such as utility bills, phone recharge, DTH and OTT payments should be stopped. (ANI)
