Tokyo [Japan], July 19 (ANI): Casio Computer Co., Ltd., has announced the release of Privia PX-870, a stylish compact digital piano that recreates the rich and expansive tone of a grand piano with the lid open. The Privia PX-870 has a sound projection feature that uses punched metal slits in the top panel to enhance sound clarity. It offers a Lid Simulator function, a digital technology that was carried forward from the earlier PX-860 model. Privia simulates changes in a grand piano's tone depending on the degree that its lid is open or closed. The combination of these two features allows the player to experience the rich and expansive sound of a grand piano played with the lid open. The new digital piano also features the Casio multi-dimensional morphing Acoustic & Intelligent Resonator (AiR) sound source, which recreates the nuanced tonal variations and lingering reverberations of a grand piano. It uses digital technology to accomplish tonal changes based on both time passage and string resonance. In particular, the grand piano tone offers a more sophisticated timbre since temporal changes in the tone are controlled even more precisely. The PX-870 retains two popular features from its predecessor, the PX-860. Concert Play allows users to enjoy the feeling of performing at an orchestral concert by playing the piano together with the built-in recorded sound of a live orchestra. The keyboard is not only touch sensitive, but also offers precise control of attack timing. The PX-870 is the first Casio digital piano to offer mobile device sync as it allows Privia PX-870 users to practice using SMF data of their favourite songs loaded to a mobile app. They can even grade their practice using the app. However, Casio will also be releasing other new digital piano products equipped with Mobile Device Sync: the Privia PX-770 with high-quality European grand piano tone and CELVIANO AP-270 cabinet-style piano with a refined appearance and American grand piano tone.
