New Delhi [India], Dec 7 (ANI): Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri emphasised that there was no solution to the Kashmir issue except to hold a dialogue, adding New Delhi was too important for Islamabad to ignore.
Speaking at an event 'The Current State of India-Pakistan Relations' along with Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Thursday in the capital said, "India is too important a country for Pakistan to ignore. We can never ignore india; it's a much larger country with much larger resources."
"We have a completely different narrative on Jammu and Kashmir, but we agree we have fought wars and suffered from it. India and Pakistan have to progress together," he added.
Kasuri further said, "Neither can win but both will loose and intelligent people say, in a war, there can be no lasting solution. I don't know any condition when there was peace after hosting wars," adding, "my conclusion is that there is no solution except to hold a dialogue."
The former Pakistan minister also attacked at United States President Donald Trump, and emphasised that Pakistan couldn't be isolated as it was at an important strategic location.
"They would isolate Pakistan? Let me tell you Pakistan cannot be isolated. Pakistan is important, not just for your strategic location, but it is a Muslim part," he said.
He added, "Today, the US is isolated, not Pakistan. In the good old days, there was a world called liberal, which is criminalised by President Trump." (ANI)
