Pakistani boat with 6 crew members onboard apprehended

Kutch (Gujarat) [India], December 29 (ANI): A Pakistani boat with six crew members onboard was apprehended on Friday for illegally fishing in Indian waters by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).

The Pakistani boat 'Sindh Singhar' was detected by the ICG based at Jakhau while patrolling close to International Maritime Boundary Line.

All the Pakistani crew members carrying 300 kg of fish have been handed over to local Marine Police for further investigation.

The ICG, keeping in view high-security alert on the occasion of new year, has intensified patrolling and surveillance in the area.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan released 144 Indian fishermen, who had allegedly entered and fished in Islamabad's territorial waters, via Attari border in Punjab's Amritsar on humanitarian grounds. (ANI)
